February Fundraiser

February is our month dedicated to fundraising and this year we had a Pub Quiz and Raffle on Friday the 17th of February.

The event took place in The Ivy Bar in Newtownards, many thanks to everyone there for being such kind hosts.

Our quiz master on the evening was Kevin from White Cat Quizzes and everyone agreed at the end of the night he was a very entertaining quiz master

Thanks also must go to several local businesses, plus members of our Group who donated prizes for the raffle, too many to name here, but letters of thanks have been sent to everyone.

The fantastic sum of £475 was raised on the evening - so finally  a big thankyou to eveyone who turned up on the night!

Christmas Fayre

We took our now annual stall at Campbell College's Christmas Fayre.

This year we had a much wider variety of goods thanks go to - 

The salad dressings cooking efforts of Nadira;

The Onion Marmalade making skills of Olive;

The crafting with slate skills of Emma;

The Christmas Tree decoration making skills of Anne;

And last but not least the Garden Window Box skills of Gary!

We also had a hamper to raffle and many thanks to Suzanne for the kind donation of items to go in the hamper.

A grand sum of just over £200 was raised on the day, and more money is still coming in from sales of surplus stock.

Fireside Quiz

To help meet our running costs for 2011-2012 we had a recent fireside quiz on Towns & Townlands in the North Down & Ards area.

A big thankyou to everyone who bought a quiz sheet, thanks to you we raised £190, enough to comfortably meet our costs.

The winner drawn on Monday the 14th of November was Jen from Newtownards.

Coin box Fundraising

The North Down & Ards Support Group is very appreciative of several local businesses -   Hardys - Comber, Joshua Tree - Comber & Kates Beauty - Comber, who allow us to have coin collection tins in their premises; a little small change can make a big difference and we never fail to be surprised at the amounts collected.
